You know you are no longer….

A city person when you find yourself in the market for a wood chipper/shredder!! And no, not for means as seen in Fargo (the movie, not the television series) but to actually get out there and make your own mulch. It’s probably been official for quite some time but if you spend a good 30 years in the best city on the planet, well, let’s just say it takes a little time to get that out of your system, if not for anything but the sheer ease in which it is to get things you immediately need (coffee and beer come to mind)! So that said, here I am doing precisely that, trying to compare shop wood chipper/shredders as I am done with bagging up leaves and tree parts and/or loading up the truck and bringing to the compost facility so they can basically turn it into mulch and sell it back to me! Not that I won’t continue to buy it from them, brilliant thing to have in your town, I just don’t plan on contributing to the big pile anymore. If anyone has any suggestions, please send our way.

You see it seems that online reviews can often be false (oh my!) and for the most part made up by employees of the company selling said machinery or vice versa, a competitor trying to take down that companies product in hopes of promoting their own. Kind of all makes sense just curious on where does it end….do companies create their own seemingly independent review services and then give their products the double thumbs up? Go ahead and type in “best chipper/shredders available” and see what pops up, good times for sure. Anyway, I’ll keep at it and hope to have it down to the best two or three soon and then see who can get it to me first.

We’ve been having internet problems here at Pulpland, at least for the last month or so, requiring at least one reboot a day if not a couple. Spent a lot of quality time on the phone trying to get this resolved, seems the cable companies are more interested in selling you new services then fixing the ones you already have. Quite the effort trying to get an actual service technician out to have a look, once you do get through to an actual customer service person who you have to convince that you have already unplugged and replugged the modem (the reboot) on numerous occasions and after they go into a pitch on using their mobile plan services, an appointment finally gets set. Then their computer calls you back, not once, not twice, but five times to confirm your appointment (it actually hung up on me the first time, right after it said go ahead and press “1” if your service has resumed, scary), appointment day comes. Service tech arrives and has one look at the incoming line and casually says, “the squirrels got it, chewed it all up”! And I thought we were friends! Good news, all is well now and Pulpland is back online 100 %.

Which makes me wonder. Seems I have had some clarity issues with videos I have been posting to YouTube of late, wasn’t sure if I was just doing to much on the graphics and or what but everything was just coming up blurry. When you Google “why are my videos blurry on YouTube” one of the things that comes up is how fast are your videos uploading? My guess is not very fast with a squirrel chewed up cable for output! Something I will be checking on shortly so stay tuned.

Now for the good news, after unending rain and fairly cool conditions, today will be all sun and in the 80’s. Tomorrow too! Pulpland is heading outside to go get busy on the walkway from Pulp Patio to driveway, going with some crushed limestone and hoping that does the trick. Will post some pics next week and have some Pulp Mulch pics from this past week on the New Pulp page so go ahead and check them out. All for now and see you next week!
