Moving On Up….

To Kentucky!! Well we’ve been away for a few weeks (plus) now and as mentioned in last blog we were taking a little vacation. Drum roll please….the vacation included a move to Western Kentucky! That’s right, Pulpland has relocated to a beautiful new space (new to us that is) just in time for some very impressive Spring blooms. Of course, it did actually snow two nights ago but temps stayed above freezing and all outdoor plants/trees doing just fine. New home is also quite the sight but as with all new abodes, we are full on into renovations to make it ours!

Now we all know that moving is a pain in the butt so not going to dwell on that. I will say that it was the most organized move I’ve ever been a part of so guess we’ve got that down pretty well now (and there are no plans to be doing that again as this is one of those “forever” type homes)! We are also close to family now so it really does feel like home. I will mention that a 15 hour drive towing a U-haul trailer with a very upset Ms. Zoe in the back seat is not for the light of heart, but I am sure I’ll look back and laugh at it in the future (still brings back very vivid memories anytime I get on a highway). Long story short, Zoe did manage to calm down and nap on occasion and very much enjoyed the rest/gas stops, as we let her out of her dog carrier (that’s right, got her a nice big dog carrier for the ride and her safety) to stretch the legs, have a snack and use the kitty box.

So, here we are in Kentucky and trees and flowering plants are doing their Spring thing. The day to day changes and the amazing colors are simply spectacular! As luck would have it, we are near what is known here as “The Dogwood Trail” part of a 12 mile run through town that is loaded with Dogwood and similar flowering trees. Annual weeklong celebration just finished up (one is encouraged to “light them up” for night time viewing and who are we to argue with that, solar powered lights in place)!

Home renovations currently include new floors, replacing all wall to wall carpeting. Going with hardwood on the main floor and LVT (luxury vinyl tile) in the downstair spaces. Near complete on office/recording studio set ups and things are really looking good. We’ve got some additional rooms now so full on plans for a game room (including pool table) and setting up quite the spacious work shop to really start digging in on some of the exterior projects.

Pulpmuzic has been slightly on hold while I get the recording studio complete, this one is indoors so working on soundproofing and awaiting some new ceiling tile/sound absorbing panels. Pics of the progress to date on the New Pulp page this week.

We’ve also submitted our new book, “Pulp Wildlife”, to Apple books and it is out there, however, some issues with the formatting, which I am attempting to repair before I let everyone know its good to go. As always, some glitches in the process, nothing ever seems to be as simple as they say it is, but we’ll get there!

Anyway, while we do miss some of our former wildlife friends (Hootie and Rockie the most), making some new ones here and always have the camera ready to go so will be posting them for sure. Also blessed with having both full on sunrises and sunsets making for some fabulous pics. Check out the New Pulp page for a glimpse of what I am talking about.

Good to be back!
