Holy Crap, Is It……
May already? And did you miss me? Yes, that’s right, I took the last couple weeks off from the Pulp Blog. Not because I didn’t have anything to say (well maybe that was part of it) but mostly because I am doing about twenty things at once these days and just trying to keep the head above water if you know what I mean. And I know you do, we all try to do what we have to do, keep things going as best we can and hopefully have the moments that make it all worth while! My point being, we are all freaking busy and that is not a bad thing, its just what is, and that is okay for sure!
So I come to you on what is Cinco de Mayo and what is also known as the day of the Flower Moon, aka, what they call the May full moon. Not for nothing, it’s also my birthday month so just letting you all know, and yes, I am a Taurus which might explain a lot of my thoughts and what you have read here. Anyway, because both things are happening on the same day, I went and Googled it, to see how often this has happened. Answer, well, that didn’t come up so my guess is that it happens quite often (think about it, May 5th is always May 5th and if the May full moon typically appears in the early part of May, kind of makes sense that they would line up on quite a few occasions over time). Of course that would all depend on when the May full moon received its “flower moon” moniker and would depend on when Cinco de Mayo came into existence. Big questions and yes, I had a look. Seems Cinco de Mayo is not related to the actual founding of Mexico but actually refers to a specific battle, the Battle of Pueblo, in 1862 in which Mexico put a whooping on France and it was a whooping so bad that the then Mexican President (sorry, forgot the name) declared it pretty much a holiday going forward.
The Flower Moon? Well, tends to make sense, April showers bring May flowers, right? End of the day looks like the actual naming has been claimed by quite a few groups, but again, sort of makes sense doens’t it?
Here in Pulpland (and besides celebrating my birthday next week) we are putting a whooping on the 1800 Project! I like to think that everything we do there is something, even if it is the littlest of things, it’s still something, and when you add up all f the somethings, you eventually have a finished product. Also keeping very busy with Pulpmuzic and a few videos (I know, when is that going to happen… real soon) that will be out there to see in the near future!
That's all for this week, see you soon!
