Feeling……

Hot, Hot, Hot! Remember that song? Buster Poindexter (aka, David Johansen, singer from The New York Dolls and the guy who played the taxi cab driver in the movie Scrooged) hit back in the day and let me tell you, it’s been hot, hot, hot all week here in Pulpland. Broke two individual day records and I even managed to sweat through a little notebook that I keep in my back pocket on one of them. I mean like right through it as in I just dropped it in a bucket of water. Hot, indeed, but no rain, so we hit the new Pulp Deck project hard and managed to get all of the old overhead and existing weird floor system that leaks removed. New sub floor installed and going to begin install of the uprights that will support the new roof structure today and potentially get some sort of tarp up as there is rain in the forecast and would like to keep things as dry as possible for the time being. We shall see how far we get. By the way, I ran into David Johansen back when the above mentioned song was quite popular and it just happened to be outside of Studio 54 in NYC (this was a few years after it was the big disco hot spot scene from the Andy Warhol era, but it was still open and still counts) so I got that going for me!

I also ran into Rick James at one point (around the same time period outside the same Studio 54, and just so you know, not my regular hang out but it was fun once in a blue moon). By run into, I mean I walked past him as he was sort of bent over in the street talking to the front grill of a parked car. Can’t touch this.

Anyway, I digress. The point of all this being, I think I am seeing spring in the rear view mirror and I just want to know what happened to it? Pretty sure I can count with my fingers the total number of beautiful spring days we have had this season and not sure I’d need more than one hand. Bam, summertime! Got used to there not being as many seasons down in Texas but that was to be expected, didn’t think I’d see it here. Oh well, maybe just a one off (or maybe not)! I suppose as long as it isn’t freezing we are in a good place but a couple more of those 70’s and sunny would suck. Just my thoughts.

Time to get decking so off we go (to the Home Depot of course). See you all next week and check out the progress pics on the New Pulp Page.

Later!
