Timing is……

Well, everything, of course! As luck would have it, items we have purchased for the new Pulpland and all of our Pulp Improvements seem to trickle in at their own pace and while that may not sound optimal, it actually works out great. Think about it, things (especially large, bulky items) take up space and when you’ve got a lot coming in, space is a commodity. You always need somewhere to work, somewhere to store removed items, somewhere to, in general, make a bit of a mess (which we clean up each day at the end mind you)! So, the trickle in process has allowed certain projects to begin and finish just based off of the arrival times. Case in point, new LVT flooring for Pulp Studio came in first, wallah, Pulp Studio complete. New LVT flooring came in for the Pulp Guest Room next, also now complete (albeit, waiting on the bed to arrive so any potential guests would be sleeping bagging it for the time being, but at least the TV works)! This week saw the arrival of new wall tile and a very large (39” wide) utility sink which we’ll be putting in place of a little kitchenette sink nook (which didn’t really have a purpose) next to the washer/dryer area and giving us an overall “badass” work/prep space (I should mention that it will also be very sight pleasing, what with the new wall tile and all). Just a note, Old Pulpland had a utility sink in the garage and that turned out to be a game changer, alas, no water/drain in new Pulp garage so we adapt as always! Anyway, point being, deliveries dictate projects and quite honestly, kind of enjoying the complete randomness of it, keeping me on my toes, carpe diem, right? Believe Home Depot is enjoying it as well, as I constantly dash there to grab whatever is needed for that days project. Check out the New Pulp page for this weeks Pulp Improvement progress pics.

And yes, certain pieces of furniture and other items (new condenser microphone for Pulp Studio, woo hoo) continue to arrive. Have you noticed the many different delivery styles that seem to be in place since the pandemic started last year? Sometimes you’ll get the courtesy of a door bell ring letting you know a package has arrived. Sometimes you wake up in the morning and there is a package sitting on your front stoop from the day before. Sometimes you have your garage door open and walk in to find a package just sitting there and/or you just happen to be in the garage when deliverer goes to drop it. On many delivery tickets, you’ll see a note saying “please call this number prior to delivery” written out pretty clearly…only to see a truck pulling away from your place sans phone call and after package drop. All very interesting but must say, big fan of the RING THE DOORBELL PLEASE method!

We’re on version 4 of the new Pulp Wildlife picture book. Submitted to Apple Books the other day and waiting to see how this current version formats out. Fingers crossed. If not successful I am contemplating trying to call someone over there to see if they can walk me through it (also very curious to see if you can actually talk to someone as opposed to interacting with a computer help screen). Keep you all posted.

Time for today’s Home Depot run (more accessories for the Pulp Sink Nook project, ready to start tiling). Have a great weekend and see you next week!
