The Wolf Moon….

So, as it turns out, this week featured the first full moon of 2021. This particular moon is referred to as “The Wolf Moon”. I did not know that, seems I haven’t been paying much attention to Moon nicknames through the years. Did a little research and looks like each monthly full moon has it’s own “nick” name. While debate exists on the origins of the the “Wolf” moon designation, it is a clear reference to the fact that Wolves, especially, like to howl in the early part of a new year, as it is the time to start finding a mate for upcoming “denning” season. And yes, they do tend to “howl at the moon” but apparently that is just their way of projecting the howls as far as possible. Seems Hootie (our resident Owl) is experiencing the same timeline here, really belting out the hoots each early evening, still searching for a mate! Anyway, there are typically 12 full moons each year (and they each have their own nickname), however, once in a “Blue” moon, we get a thirteenth, hence the “Blue Moon” name and something that happened last year (I remember setting my alarm to make sure I got a glimpse and some pics of that one). The Wolf Moon, good stuff, and we have some pics of it on the New Pulp Page this week!

In other Pulpland news, this week saw the return of Big Blue (the Great Blue Heron) who stopped by a few times to get a little fish snack in from the creek. Thinking Springtime can’t be very far away (at least here in Texas)! Also getting pounded (and I mean that literally) by a huge influx of Cedar Waxwings, who have a very strong appetite for berries and then the subsequent “droppings” that are highlighting the landscape (and my truck). Good times!

Pulpmuzic has been hitting it hard on wrapping up the “Reach” song and we are into a new one “The Way You See It” which is coming along nicely. Hope to have sharable versions of each very soon!

New pics on New Pulp Page plus a “recipe of the week” added so please check them out.

All for now, see you next week!
