Staring at the….
Bricks! And more bricks. Having pretty much completed the Pulp Game Room (we did just find a very nice bar table for it, stools on back order, and waiting for a few more wall art decor items to arrive), it is back to the Pulp Patio (leveling) project and let me just say, this one is a back breaker. Also pretty rough on the hands as gripping and striking bricks to set them individually is both strenuous and time consuming. Not to mention the occasional hacks to the fingers made when not always paying strict attention. One brick at a time, though, and great progress being made. We did get a little greedy at one point, trying to bring two sides in together and have them mesh, which we paid for, as this created a pretty significant pinch point (bricks wouldn’t fit anymore) and ended up having to pull a fairly large section to reset them. Lesson learned, when installing a brick patio, one side and one side only has to lead the way and dictate the flow. Anyway, back on track and nearing the finish line (will need to get a little creative at that point as we are short a few bricks due to the former circle of dirt and tree that was at the center)! Check out the New Pulp Page for progress pics.
Very much enjoying the Olympics being on nearly 24/7 and have mastered the TV remote and our cable provider to be able to find a lot of real time events plus enjoying the nightly recap of primetime showings (even when I already know the outcome). Very impressed with the table tennis and badminton players and that kayak slalom thing is a wonder to behold. Bring on the track and field events. Ms. Zoe has even gotten in on the action, her favorite new sport to watch is the Equestrian events and the horses in particular (very cute picture of her on the New Pulp page watching from the comfort of her pillow)!
Back out to the heat (it’s been pretty extreme here the last few days) and the bricks. See you all next week!
